Clean up, fix up and spruce up are the three best things you can do to sell your home quickly. Selling quickly is all about putting your home’s best foot forward. It’s really pretty simple.
First on the agenda is to declutter your home. No one wants to walk in and see stacks of magazines, books, junk mail or videos covering every available surface. Also, if you have numerous collections of teacups, glass figurines, thimbles or other collectibles, carefully pack those away and store them off premises, if possible.

The same goes if you have large pieces of furniture lining every wall, especially if a piece has been loved to the point that the upholstery is ragged. A potential buyer wants to see how spacious the home is and imagine their furniture in the space.

Next, look around to see if anything is broken or needs replacing. Make sure all light bulbs are in good working order. How about toilet seats? Cabinet door knobs? Do your closet doors open properly? Little things add up and can make a big difference to buyers, so don’t overlook minor repairs.

After you’ve decluttered and repaired, clean everything from top to bottom. Dust, vacuum, mop, scrub the bathrooms and kitchen. Make everything sparkle and smell fresh.

Once the inside is clean and fresh, head outdoors. Mow the grass, trim the hedges and pull the weeds. Flowers on the porch are inviting and dress up the entrance. Just remember to keep them watered and looking good.
